Blogs are annoying...right??

About a month ago, I started to notice I had the urge to share more about mind body medicine. I was feeling really inspired by all of the amazing clients I work with (yes you!), and it lit a fire. But, despite my excitement, for the life of me, I couldn't figure out how to do it. Probably because I'd written off blogs long ago. After maybe the tenth time scrolling endlessly through what felt like a memoir of sharing hoping to finally come across the promised recipe that I so badly wanted to make, I was done with that! Turns out, I'm not alone in that, and there are some pretty funny people talking about that experience exactly ;-)

So, maybe blogs are annoying (at least if you just want to make the damn recipe already). But, (I promise) we're not going to do that here.
I'd like to think of this blog more like a running newsletter that you could revisit anytime. It's impossible to not be struck by the people I work with- what they uncover, their healing, and the paths they take to make that happen. I learn so much from each and every one of you. This blog, then, will be a place for sharing the themes that are fresh on my heart; themes that have stood out, felt impactful, and continue to resurface as important in how I coach people to support their journey out of pain. Simply put, I'll share about things that touch me and inspire me because they change lives. And I'll also share about "hot topics" that I keep getting asked about. We'll talk about it all here!
And, to soften any blow that sarcasm can (sometimes) confer, I'll also offer this: If there's any truth at the root of why we have so many long winded recipe bloggers, it's that, as humans, we are all craving connection. And for good reason. Connection is amazing medicine, and often so missing in our healing spaces. So, in this blog, I'll do my best to not make any post feel like you have to labor to get to the meat of it. But, remember too, that it often takes slowing down to notice our common humanity and realize, as I know it to be true, that you are not alone in this. Hopefully I can support that part too, without too much annoyance ;-)
So, here's what my goals are for this "mind body musings" blog space:
Posts will be short.
Posts will be relevant to what so many of you experience.
Posts will offer good, solid, evidence-based (when available) information (that you can easily find without scrolling endlessly).
Posts will support having complex discussions (the ones medicine often does not support), normalize the complex nature of what we experience in our bodies, and welcome those experiences all as valid and impactful to how we experience health.
Posts will share insights from working in mind body medicine for over a decade that I notice are consistently impactful.
And, hopefully, they will help you feel less alone, and more seen, and more heard.
So, let's learn, let's connect, and let's be in dialogue about mind body medicine, together. And, of course, if there's something you'd love to hear more about, contact me with your request! I'd be happy to share my experience and thoughts on any topic mind body, especially those that feel important and impactful to you.
